On 6th of August 2010, during the international documentary and short film festival “Dokufest”, within the frame of Collective Memory and Transitional Justice project, Alter Habitus organized the second discussion on ‘Dealing the with the past – Transitional Justice in Kosovo’. This event was held in the House of Culture in Prizren, after watching the film ‘Enemies of the People’, which treats the genocide in Cambodia, but also the practices of TJ such as testimony.
Panelists were Nora Ahmetaj – human rights activist and Visar Ymeri from Vetëvendosje!, Eli Krasniqi (Alter Habitus) moderated the discussion. This event brought on the table two different lines of thought concerning practices of TJ in Kosovo, such as the efforts of the truth and facts finding regional commission RECOM. The massive attendance brought also other issues to discuss, which Kosovo society deals with but they are seldom (if at all) part of the discussion in the public sphere.
